REIMAGINE Ministry Support Requirements
The REIMAGINE program is a Christian Education initiative with an intergenerational approach to ministry for families, caregivers, and churches to instill and re-visit Christian values and beliefs.
REIMAGINE’s goal is to strengthen the entire church, and families, by allowing all generations to share their unique gifts and wisdom with one another, fostering a stronger, more collaborative community that reflects the household of faith.
Intergenerational Ministry
Intergenerational ministry intentionally brings people from different generations together in mutual serving, sharing, and learning to build a unified faith community.
Unlike a multigenerational setting where different age groups exist side-by-side, intergenerational ministry actively creates relationships and interdependence between them through activities like worship, small groups, and outreach.
Reimagine Intergenerational Ministry (RIM) Support Requests
When submitting Reimagine Intergenerational Ministry (RIM) support requests, it’s important to identify and include specifics that:
-
Teach Christian values, principles, and beliefs: Specify scriptures and goals of selected texts.
-
Support mutual learning and serving: Intergenerational ministry emphasizes reciprocity, where younger and older members serve and learn from one another, with the understanding that all generations have something valuable to contribute.
-
Build relationships: Intergenerational ministry moves beyond age-segregated "silos" to create genuine connections and empathy between generations.
-
Share activities: Generations collaborate in the core activities of the church, such as worship, small groups, Bible studies, and mission efforts or trips that reinforce biblical teachings and principles.
Approved RIM Requests
-
Approved RIM requests are eligible to receive resources or monetary support for your church’s Christian Education department.
-
RIM requests must include estimated or final costs supported by invoices or receipts.
-
Approved awards are issued on a sliding scale to the Church.
Examples of RIM activities:
-
Worship services: Services designed with a variety of elements that speak to all ages, rather than focusing on one specific group.
-
Shared meals: Gathering around a table for a Chrisitan Education session that can include a story, worship, and fun.
-
Small groups: Forming groups that intentionally include a range of ages, from young adults to seniors for Christian Educational sessions.
-
Serving projects: Organizing outreach or service events that require different generations to work together toward a common goal and that emphasize Christian principles, values, and beliefs with biblical references.
-
Events: Holding special events like a two-hour gathering for learning Christian education, Christian values or beliefs with play, and worship that feel like family time.
